Bentonita Bentstar It is a high quality product, ideal for professional and domestic use.

General features bentonite clarification

Bentstar is a bentonite of clarification composed of monomorillonic clay of sodium activated with the characteristic of swelling significantly in the presence of water, forming a homogeneous and creamy gel. It is generated by the very careful control of the dimension of the dusty particles and the waste aggregates (sand) to ensure the purity required by Codex Oenologique International.

Bentstar appears in a state of light beige powder, with an optimal average particle size for perfect water dispersion and subsequent swelling.

In a acid (wine) it acts on electrokinetic absorption, because it is combined with negative and positive loads (must or wine proteins) causes the vials to form a compact warehouse with the following advantages:

  • high power to absorb proteins;
  • slight dispersion;
  • low content of inert substances;
  • minimized volume storage;
  • absence of foreign odors and aromas;
  • absorption of polyphenols;
  • Elimination of enzymes, especially oxidic ones.

Therefore, we recommend the use of the product on white and red wines to clarify and stabilize the protein, which must take place before the yeast inoculation or during fermentation.

Conditions of use

Bentstar is slowly diluted in 10-12 parts of water by strong stirring to avoid the appearance of bulges. Allow the solution to soften for 6 to 12 hours. Mix and add the volume to be treated.

DOSAGE

  • 50-100 g/hl for young wines;
  • 40-60 g/hl for already cleared wine;
  • 80-150 g/hl for rich color, tannins and yeasts;
  • 50-100 g/hl for musts.

Preliminary laboratory tests are recommended, checking the amount of absorbed proteins (bentotest), color absorption (DO420 and DO520). Also perform an organoleptic test.

COMPOSITION

  • Montmorilonite clay (bentonite): 80 -100%;
  • Silica derived compounds: 0 - 20%.

PACKING

Packages of 1 kg and 25 kg.
