General characteristics
The technical plugs produced by António Almeida Cortiças are recognized for the high degree of quality and reliability. They are used in the bottling of fruity wines, which suffer aging in glass for medium periods. The technical stops 1 + 1 offer the high mechanical and sensory performance sector, homogeneity, accuracy and reliability. Like the natural cork plugs, the quality of the technical stops 1 + 1 begins in choosing the best raw material, allowing to obtain cork granules and cork discs with a high degree of purity. The granules in the stopper are subject to the Advantech disinfection system, which allows the removal of tannins and volatile organic compounds. In parallel, the process of disinfecting the individual discs - Deo - ensures their deep disinfection. Its final goal is to obtain the harmless cork in sensory terms.
All production processes are carefully followed and controlled in order to obtain a very effective sealing solution, which provides high organoleptic and mechanical characteristics.
COMPOSITION
This type of plugs are obtained from natural materials as the other categories that the company of António Almeida Cortiças produces. The difference is given by the fact that the pores are covered by the cork powder resulting from the manufacturing process. To fix the powder in the pores, a natural glue based on resin and natural rubber is used.
